This book is so well written, and the story hits deep. It broke my heart, but somehow gave me hope. Although I know many people, especially vulnerable teenagers face the horrible treatment of conversion therapy every day, I couldn't imagine how hard would it be. The author really made me fall into his shoes, the descriptions are so vivid, in a very crude heartbreaking way. Yet, at the end, there is hope. Highly recommended read.

This was a jarring look into the mind of a child raised deep in the bible belt. Reading his honest thoughts about religion, guilt, and family put perspective on the conservative Christians. While reading, I couldn't help but rage at the close minded elders and the injustice/abuse they're condoning.
