Less of a memoir, more of a series of disjointed essays that fail to deliver a cohesive narrative. Still a beautifully written and gut wrenching piece.

This book is so well written, and the story hits deep. It broke my heart, but somehow gave me hope. Although I know many people, especially vulnerable teenagers face the horrible treatment of conversion therapy every day, I couldn't imagine how hard would it be. The author really made me fall into his shoes, the descriptions are so vivid, in a very crude heartbreaking way. Yet, at the end, there is hope. Highly recommended read.

This is definitely a rough read. But if you are a queer person who grew up in Christian churches, you’ll find a lot to relate to. Also this very obviously deals with conversion therapy, so keep that in mind.
