Fun YA Mystery

We listened to this on our Thanksgiving road trip to Detroit. Everyone enjoyed it!

Writing was really easy to read and the story was so immersing!
funny mysterious fast-paced

In my second venture into mysteries for kids by Stuart Gibbs, I read Space Case. Set 26 years in the future, Dash is living on the moon with his scientist parents in the first colony. It's not nearly all it was cracked up to be, but life gets exciting when one of the other scientists is murdered. The director of the colony is treating it as an accident, so Dash teams up with the new girl, Kira, to try to find out what really happened to Dr. Holtz. I really enjoyed the imagination of what it might be like to live on the moon. And the mystery was well paced and would be quite absorbing for kids.

This is great. Fun, interesting, and the characters are great. I'm in love with Chang. He's maybe one of my new favorite characters in middle grade lit. The tattoos and dinosaurs, how can you not love him?!

I couldn't put this thing down, I read it in a couple of days and when I was working I was thinking about how much I wanted to be reading. The world isn't all that interesting, pretty much everything is a let down for the characters are and you're let down with them. While this is very plot driven, there are some really great characters and then some cardboard cut out people. The characters Gibbs took the time to write though are great and worth reading the book for.

One thing I really love about this is how smart everyone is but they are still rather normal, for lack of a better term. There is a good bit of diversity among their personalities and ethnic backgrounds. I wish we had seen a little more of the women in general though.

I'm excited for the next book!

Good mystery. It's funny to think of life on the moon as being boring. Life must be pretty exciting in future. Good thing there are always mysteries to be solved.
