As someone who came out to (at the time) intolerant parents, this book was like a warm hug. The story itself was cute but the inner turmoil of self discovery resonated so much with me.
Absolutely loved this book <3

I don’t usually read YA or fiction but out of the three I’ve read this year THIS ONE both melted my heart and put a knife thru it. Great last 3 chapters. Loved it.
Moderate: Homophobia, Domestic abuse, and Racism
Minor: Medical trauma and Abortion

I actually liked this book more than I was expecting. It’s definitely a YA book and the characters sometimes say things or make decisions that stress me out as an adult, but it’s exactly the type of book I wish I could have read during high school.
It was fun and silly, even with the backdrop of a homophobic and racist town the characters want to escape. The ending was a little cliche, but I honestly don’t mind it. All said, it was a fun little read and I’m really glad books like this exist.
