My favorite RWBY Manga so far. Blake is a great character, curious but also self-doubting. She is a great addition to team RWBY though.

i love these characters so much it seems like i just can't get enough of them, still all the prejudice against the faunus was something that bothered me because i think it was poorly developed and focused more on how bad the vicims of opression were for being 'too violent' and not on how much of pain and violence was the opressor's fault, it felt like the faunus were being vilanized.

I would have liked to see some more creative liberties being taken with the RWBY storyline, instead of just a bunch of pointless vignettes that add no real background to the characters we all know and love. Don't get me wrong, sometimes it's great to have laid-back character moments full of nonsense, but not all at once.

I would have loved to have seen some heavy-hitting themes be touched upon that never made it into the show, maybe the psychological implications of being a completely different species from your peers, as opposed to the simple 'I'm going to skulk around feeling sorry for myself and hope no one discovers my secret' thing. Nothing new was added to Blake's character or perspective on the world, and that's my main complaint with short stories in general. The same goes for the previous two volumes in this anthology.

I liked this volume too. Blake is the character to whose pains and fears and anxieties I relate to the most. And they were addressed in a few stories in this volume and I really liked that. Also seeing what opening up is to her, seeing her baby steps, I loved that too.
Also as a huge Bumbleby shipper, seeing not only Blake talk so sweetly of Yang but Yang be very blunt and obvious about her feelings for Blake makes my heart melt. They are so cute and make my heart so warm. I love them so much.

As someone who's never been much of a Blake fan since getting into RWBY, I have to say that this volume of the RWBY manga anthology really softened me a bit with the heavier aspects of the stories that are contained in it. While most of the stories in the previous volumes tended to focus on a lot of fun and character exploration, these stories also focused with a lot of the underlying racial tension between humans and faunus, as well as the inner turmoil and lingering guilt Blake has regarding her past with the White Fang. It's still dubious whether or not these stories are actually canon, and even so, I don't take them as such necessarily, but it was still a nice change of pace from before.

Not much else to say at this point in time, but perhaps in the future I'll analyze just a little more when I go through this again.

I really enjoy the jokes, but manga isn't quite the medium for me.
