These books are irreverent and a hoot. Skinner the dog and his "Food People" make me smile every time. This book takes place before the Stupidest Angel (which is one of my favorite books). It was a fun ride, and I look forward to more.

Not my favorite of Moore's books, but it was a fun read.
This was the second book in the Pine Cove series, and it was a huge flop for me. I really enjoyed the first book and was looking forward to reading this, but it just really fell flat for me. I didn't really connect with any of the characters, and the premise of the book itsself was just really lame, for lack of a better word. I really enjoy Christopher Moore, but this book was pretty bad. I had to force myself to finish it.

Christopher Moore continues to be one of my new favorite authors.
Steve the Sea Beast's ability to send out psychic pheromones combines with the town's psychiatrist removing medications from her treatment regimen to create a town that's on edge in more ways than anyone could ever imagine. Sprinkle in some honest crazy, a dirty law man, and the Blues. There are plenty of really funny parts in this book that make it worth reading (cue Catfish Jefferson's story about his first encounter with Steve). If you are a fan of Moore's, it's a must read.
