I've been waiting to find another Christopher Moore book as hilarious as Lamb. This isn't it. I returned it to the library unfinished, I just couldn't push through it.

I wish there were more Pine Cove books to read! I have read all three now, and something about the silliness combined with a small town vibe just gets me every time. This is about misuse of medication by a doctor trying to cope with a loss, a supernatural lizard, and it wouldn't be complete without a warrior babe.

Moore is always good for a laugh and someone I look for if I want a fun, short read.

Funny, little book about a primordial lizard tempted out of the depths of the ocean by a wave of depression, brought about by a psychiatrist's crisis of conscience after one of her clients commits suicide, which prompts her to replace her over-prescribed patients' meds with placebo. The lizard, Steve, can also affect the brain chemistry of susceptible depressives, causing bouts of horniness and religious fervor. Awesome... :)

This has got to be Moore's most twisted book. And that is saying something, considering this is the same person who wrote a Christmas story about zombies. But I am pretty sure that any book that includes a sex scene between a schizophrenic ex-B movie star and a sea monster with a penis the size of a telephone poll has got to be the wierdest thing I have ever read. I'm just sayin'....

Off the wall and fun.

Moore is very funny. This story was similar to Practical Demonkeeping, so not his most original story, but entertaining all the same.

I like how the guy gets the girl, how Moore explores unconventional relationships without so much as a hiccup, how people turn their life around, in these books.

Funny.

This is one of my favorite authors and this was a quick light read. Nothing spectacular here, but I love reading Moore's work.
