I was sorely disappointed in this book. I really enjoy Christopher Moore's humor and expected to enjoy this book as I have his other books.
I was unable to finish it. I had to just give up and accept defeat.

I really enjoyed this book but I feel like I am reading them backwards. I have read his later books that include the characters that are in this book so I already know what happens to them.

I've read almost all of Moore's books over the last 15+ years and I can't tell if this book is just so-so or if I've grown out of his schtick.

Easily the funniest book I've ever won at a baby shower.

Sex, drugs, and.. sea monsters? Definitely one of the stranger books I've read. Even so, it was at turns hilarious and definitely entertaining. I would recommend it if you're in need of a new kind of book.

Quirky, hilarious, and straight up fun.

I think this book was as close to an acid trip as I’ll ever get. I need some time to sort out the chaos on this one.

Alright. Upon further reflection, I think this novel deserves five stars for being the most bizarre book I’ve ever read - with more twists and turns that a DNA strand. If you want to enter a completely different world, completely suspend and yes also be powered by disbelief, and stand agog for 5-6 hours, this is the book for you.

Absurdism and irony culminate into a radioactive, psychedelic cocktail that is sure to wrench you out of your realist despair.
