This thriller reminded me of some other books I’ve read in the past where the main character is looking for revenge. I was cheering for Taylor even though her thirst for revenge did lead to her further problems! This book contains details of abuse in a relationship, including emotional abuse. There is foreshadowing that shows you the choices we make effect the things that occur throughout the story.
I couldn’t get into it in the beginning, but nearing the middle it had me absolutely hooked!
I read The Strangers we Know by Pip Drysdale in one sitting two weeks ago and was hoping The Sunday Girl would meet those expectations. I found it very similar, in terms of its subject matter and writing and really enjoyed it, finishing it in less than a day also. I found that it ended more abruptly than I was expecting, and I found myself wishing the ending had been more drawn out, which is the only reason I didn't give it five stars.

I went into this expecting 'Gone Girl' vibes and I wasn't wrong! I surprisingly really enjoyed this book and finished in less than 24 hours. A good, fast read if you're hoping to up your book count.
Taylor Bishop is hurt, angry, and wants to destroy Angus Hollingsworth in the way he destroyed her: 'Insidiously. Irreparably. Like a puzzle he'd slowly dissembled, stolen a couple of pieces from, and then discarded, knowing that nobody would ever be able to put it back together ever again.'
If you love psychological thrillers, you will love this book! Taylor and Angus have the worst kind of relationship. She realizes that he has taken steps to ruin her and plans to do the same to me. There is some domestic violence so be prepared for that. I wasn't sure what was going to happen from one day to the next in the story or how it would end, which is the best way to read a thriller!

I breezed through this pretty quickly. It was a gripping story and you definitely love to hate the characters, though I'm torn between giving this 3 or 4 stars. While I enjoyed it overall, I just wanted more, especially from the narrator, Taylor. More rage, more plotting, more inner turmoil. I would recommend it to fans of "The Girl on the Train" or "Gone Girl" (why does everything have "girl" in the title now?), but I wouldn't necessarily put it on the same level.
A high stakes tale of love with a psychopath gone wrong as Taylor turns to The Art of War for revenge
Taylor frustrated me a lot, she made some very poor choices. She s the first girl in the horror movie that you scream at when she goes into the basement instead of out the front door
That being said it was an easy & enjoyable read. Adrenaline from start to end, non stop thrills
