Succinct and approachable book to how power corrupts how the right structures can fight said corruption.

A necessary guidebook for preserving any democracy.

Fascinating topic that was extremely well written. Klaas takes a complex problem and breaks it down in ways that are easily understood and interesting to boot. Poli-sci/security studies majors will be particularly interested.

Makes the case that corruption is multi factorial. Systems, ego, and access all contribute.

An instruction manual on how to create better, more incorruptible people and systems. Highly recommend.

This book is filled with essays that reveal very little information. The example stories did not help me understand the author's points, and the book overall felt more pop psychology than well-researched examination of how power affects individuals.

While I did appreciate points and anecdotes throughout this book, overall I could sense the author’s personal views on global politics throughout this book and it made me trust the work less because of that palpable bias, plus the misinformation on what Juche is. Also, I just didn’t think it was as well written as it could’ve been in terms of structure.
