A funny, lighthearted, mostly carefully and considerately written book. Most of the characters are really well observed. It moves quickly and has a really engaging structure.

A really loving portrayal of friendships and relationships.

Osman handled the book's one fat character disappointingly though- something to be aware of.

I absolutely enjoyed every minute of this book. Hands-down my favorite set of characters that I’ve met in a long time. The vibe is basically Louise Penny meets A Man Called Ove. Four funny and clever septuagenarians living within a retirement community have a murder club that meets on Thursdays to discuss cold cases—until a fresh case falls in their lap.
.
So much dark humor as well as moments of sudden depth (and, sudden death😅). As delightful as it is, definitely beware as bodies do start falling with wild abandon and there’s a fairly casual attitude towards suicide. The cases themselves were perhaps a tad convoluted but that didn’t ultimately take away from my overall massive enjoyment. Can’t wait to read more in the series.
