I disliked this book with a PASSION.
The main character is unlikeable on so many levels and, in my opinion, had little to no redeeming qualities. The biggest turn-off for her was her unrelenting internalized misogyny that she really doesn’t let go by the end of the book. She is disgusting towards her mother and the other women in her life, only showing interest or kindness to the main love interest.
I would not dislike her so much for her sexism if it was meant as a character flaw that she grows from, but it’s not. She is just judgmental and sexist and the author seems to think that all women are shallow and slutty. There are no well-written women in this that our protagonist respects. She respects her deadbeat father more than any woman in her life.
Surprised I even finished this book it was so hard to read
