Not bad. Though much is left unexplained, interesting moral issues are brought up in stories. Art is dark and gothy, and overall pleasing.

This was surprisingly good! I knew that it crossed over with Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles, but I didn't know much about it. Really enjoyed getting to know the quirky Dimensional Witch! It's funny, insightful and had some interesting magical concepts. For instance, when Yuuko wrote the Kanji for "cutting sword" on the bat and it cut through a laptop as if it was a sword! And the fact that it will only cut what she intended and nothing else, even if it was in the way. That was awesome!

And old story but one that I deem a classic and a must-read. I wish I had fully read the series before. Now I'm starting to pick it up. I have always loved CLAMP's work and xxxHolic was s staple aesthetic in my high school years. I can't wait to rediscover it. Now to get my hands on an omnibus. If you like exciting cross-references to other stories while interweaving a really interesting one of its own then this is for you. Magic, Mystery, Fortune telling, and Japanese culture all rolled into a style that's all its own. XxxHolic is the go-to gothic read.
I was not very hooked by it. I'll continue with the series because of the ending but I might drop it later on because it didn't grab me.
I'm so confused and this book is so weird. Possibly the rating will change once I get farther?
