Mental illness, friendship, young love. Green remembers what it was like and it shows in his stories.

It is interesting, after reading his collection of essays and getting to know him through his vlogs, how much of himself I find in books.

Painful at times, but a lived-in and real agony of a novel. Ava I'm rooting for you, always.

Most adults are just hollowed out. You watch them try to fill themselves up with booze or money or God or fame or whatever they worship, and it all rots them from the inside until nothing is left but the money or booze or God they thought would save them.

It made me want to read a blog an old friend wrote in high school. I swear it sounded just like Davis's.

Very quick read (listen)! Aza and her inner voice are compelling and engaging. The plot outside of Aza is interesting and moves the story along without taking from or forcing the conversation around Aza's intrusive thoughts and actions.
