This was soooo good I couldn’t put it down I don’t understand the issue people have here. It was a great audiobook. The beginning set up the major issues in it for Lydia and it really was messed up. I can see why she formed such a strobe relationship with Henry. Can’t believe I was actually rooting for AI but I was. But ONLY Henry. And the terminator

My ability to inhale a YA book honestly scares me sometimes. Nice, easy read with some important ethical questions about AI that could become very real. It’s not totally far fetched which is nice!

Cursed, cursed creator! - Mary Shelley, “Frankenstein”.

Every Line of You by Naomi Gibson is everything it could be - filled with amazing technology, ethics, love, friendship, and twists and turns I never saw coming. It's so well-written, and so shocking in parts, it was very hard to put it down.

Lydia is lonely: a death hangs over their family, splitting up her parents and forcing her to pick up the pieces of what's left. Overlooked, bullied and alone, she turns her attention to creating an AI named Henry. But as Henry grows in sentience, he sees how neglected Lydia is and becomes determined to be the one to stand up for her. Now he's strong and so very capable, quick to discipline anyone who hurts her. When he starts having wants and desires of his own, Lydia must decide how far she'd go for him in return.

Often the subject of artificial intelligence is worrisome and the book is no exception. Gibson has crafted a gripping technological adventure which takes in a wealth of themes - grief, love, bullying and family breakdown are all swept up into her exciting and often deeply moving tale of Lydia, a lonely grieving girl who builds herself an AI personality to love. And at the heart of it she asks some deep questions about what it is to be human. It manages to open up about perspectives. In particular, it’s about letting go of the human being as the supposed crown of creation. Gibson manages to think in a stimulating way about the way we want to live.

I think that this book was really, really good. I know that a lot of people have problem with this book but I don’t care. There are really popular authors who wrote for example bad and toxic books but they are still popular. So no, I don’t care about those fans who are supporting these authors and think that this author is bad.
It may looked like at first it was kinda toxic but at the end we found out it wasn’t like that at all.

And I hope, there is going to be sequel. It just can’t end like this. I cried almost through the whole ending.

Kdyby šlo dát méně hvězdiček, udělala bych to!

Well that was problematic and weird? Lydia is dealing with the grief of losing her brother in a car accident and losing her dad who walked away from her family shortly after the accident. Mom is absent and grieving. Lydia is bullied by her former best friend. So Lydia has created an AI that is her one friend (and named after said brother) but then the AI becomes super powerful and basically turns into an abusive boyfriend. And that’s just part one. Yup, a really weird and wild ride or a read here.
