I really enjoyed this book. It is the classic case of, you are not good enough for my friend but you seem to be the perfect one for me. It was genuinely hilarious. I don't think the author planned that.

If you haven't checked out any of the Wallflowers of West Lane you are missing out on the regency romance your heart longs for. Fenichel writes compelling women who don't fit the mold and a friendship to inspire everyone. The friendship of these four ladies has created a family and home and a promise to protect one another from the perils of marriage.

Mercy is now possibly my favorite wallflower. She's an musical prodigy and kindhearted as well as fierce in protecting Aurora after her disastrous marriage ended. When an earl starts to court Aurora Mercy knows she needs to confirm his intentions even if she wants him for herself. Wesley Renshaw hasn't been able to stop thinking of Mercy since they danced a few months ago. She needs to marry her friend to get his family lands back, but he wants Mercy.

I found this story completely captivating and enjoyable. It had good obstacles for the characters to get over and the couples and relationships are swoon-worthy!

This series started on an incredible high and hooked me into going along for the ride. Which brings us here to book three.
A lot less action packed than the last, however it definitely didn’t lack in the heart and friendships that I’ve come to appreciate over the course.
These girls keep bringing in the perfect addition to their group in the men they end up with, and Wesley was no different. Another complimentary addition, another intriguing ride to the finish line.
I wanted a little more from Mercedes, and wanted to have less of a love hate relationship with Wesley.
All in all, I enjoyed the read.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series. Book two was okay but i really liked the character who is the focus of this book so i continued on.
Unforrunately, this book did not work for me. I was bored and dfficuoty finishing it.

This book was a cozy historical romance novel. None of the plot elements were particularly high stakes, but that is exactly what the ideal reader of this book would want. This book is the third in the series, which did make me curious about the other books and how different or similar their plots may be. My preference for romance books includes more plot, so for that reason I don't think I'm quite the target audience for this. If the relationship progression between the two leads with minimal external plot is what you like definitely pick this up! I think the traditional historical romance novel lover would enjoy this book. The writing was good, I enjoyed the changes of scenery, and the characters were interesting.

This is the third book in The Wallflowers of West Lane series. I did not read the first two before reading this one and I really wish I did... I think it was still good on it's own but I would have known the characters a bit more had I read this series in order.

Miss Mercedes Hawke is a little bit anxious about all the changes happening in her life. Two of her best friends have recently gotten married. Her only friend left Lady Aurora Radcliff swears she will never remarry. Mercy is totally on board with this. So when Wesley Renshaw, the Earl of Castlewick, started courting Aurora, Mercy tries to interfere. Wesley is intrigued by Mercy but needs to marry Lady Radcliff to get back part of his ancestral estate.

I enjoyed this story.. I liked the premise and I think the characters were alot of fun. I will be going back and reading the first two books because I love the wallflower friend group!

Historical romance author A. S. Fenichel is back with the third book in the Wallflowers of West Lane series! In Capturing the Earl, we see Mercy try to navigate love as well as the societal pressures of Regency London as she tries to reach her own happily ever after.

If you’re looking for a historical romance series to sweep you off your feet then this is the series for you! The Wallflowers of West Lane never cease to make me smile and their friendship is so resilient, just as each girl is in her own way.

I loved Mercy and Wesley’s romance, even if it does take a bit for them to actually accept their feelings for one another. Wesley’s stubbornness in thinking he must marry Aurora is a bit frustrating, but everything finds a way to work itself out, as all great romances do. So if you don’t mind a bit of a slow burn, then this romance is definitely worth waiting for. Additionally, Mercy’s connection to music and the way it’s intermixed with her and Wesley’s romance is so interesting to read about and really transports readers to Regency London!

We get to see series favorites like Nick, Rhys, and Geb Arafa, but also get a deeper look at some of the older characters like Mercy’s aunt and Rhys and Aurora’s mother. All of these characters intermingling brings the story together yet also allows for Mercy and Wesley to shine through. This book took a bit deeper of a dive into status and duty to your family name while also emphasizing a great love story.

Overall, this is a well written novel that shows that love can overcome duty and societal standards. While I don’t know if there will be a fourth Wallflowers of West Lane book, I look forward to seeing what Fenichel will write next!
