Greg Iles

3.8 AVERAGE

I enjoyed the book alright but it’s really pretty weak compared to most of Iles’ other novels. Characters are shallower and more one dimensional and the conclusion leaves a lot unfinished. If you’re looking for a more authentic taste of Greg Iles, I suggest starting with the Penn Cage series and leaving this for a quick beach read.

Absolutely fantastic. This is the first Greg Iles book I have read, simply because I was intrigued by the title alone when I saw it in the library. I was on the edge of my seat the entire read, and I felt I needed to read quicker to find out what happened. I was incredibly touched by some parts of it, and something toward the end made me cry quite a lot. A fantastic book, I would definitely recommend!

Weak writing, predictable characters, a rather aspiring plot. Nothing special, quite the contrary - part of dozens of books which you read in no time when you're awfully bored and then forget about them. I liked the idea, but I do not think Mr.Iles managed to succeed in making a strong thriller. It's a pity.

I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Great nail biter!

A bit far fetched at times; in particular I found Abby rather advanced for a supposed five year old and imagined her as more around the right to nine year old mark. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed this fast-paced book which reads much like a Hollywood action thriller and is difficult to put down!

The book was a lot better than I was expecting from reading the first chapter. It has it's moments that are over written and silly and yet the story is interesting and entertaining. The plot is tight and everything wraps up nicely in the end. It's also one of those rare mystery/thrillers where the police and FBI are actually competent!

Of the Greg Iles books this one I liked the least. It is STILL a 4 star but his Penn Cage series is awesome all the way through.
