“What does the brain matter compared with the heart?”

The story was a bit hard to follow at times, but there are a lot of themes here that are important, like war and life. And the story itself is interesting as well!

I read this whole book and it was beautiful, but I really need to reread it and pay close attention to what Virginia Woolf is saying; because I won't lie, I got lost in there a lot.

DNF-ing this halfway.. I'm giving it 2 stars because I kinda liked the "stream of consciousness" writing but I gets confusing at some points. I just can't be bothered to read it any longer, ive been reading this book on and off for 10 days now.. I dont really care about the caracters and the overall story. Maybe I'll pick it up again somewhere down the road. But however, not in the near future is suppose.. I guess this one is going back on the library shelves.

Rated 3.5! I have fallen off the wagon several times while reading this book. One needs a lot of concentration and a heart to feel the depth of the main characters. As a middle aged woman, I could definitely relate if not all but some of Clarissa’s profound capacity to feel such emotion.
