I read Angelfall before it was published, and I'm so glad Susan's made it so far.
I love this series. =D

Like the first, I read this book in one sitting, and it was utterly amazing. This is such a fantastic series. Just go read it.

[reread because I was missing Penryn and Raffe something fierce]

My love for this series as a whole is too damn powerful. This book as a sequel is also completely fucking bananas and it's one of the ballsiest moves I've ever seen, which is saying something because the first book was already pretty damn ballsy.

Susan Ee clearly just took all the things that made Angelfall work and dialed it all up to 11. The will-they won't-they between Penryn and Raffe is dialed up, the stakes are dialed way up, the creep factor is somehow creepier than before (which, again, is really saying something considering the book that preceded it), everything you could possibly imagine is amped way up and it's heart pounding at every turn.

One of the things I simultaneously love and hate about this book is the separation between Raffe and Penryn. I hate it because, boo, not enough Raffe, but, yay, it makes his appearances, especially the one at the "party" when he and Penryn finally reunite that much more victorious and triumphant. Like, come on, the fact that Raffe just freezes in the middle of the room when he first sees Penryn and isn't yet sure it's her is so sweet, so heartbreaking, and then when she kicks the guy in the face and Raffe says, "It is you," nearly broke me in half. Their reunion shortly thereafter and all the fighting they have to do together as well as that quiet night in the beachside cabin once they escape and they're both so relieved the other is okay and they're being all bashful but snarky is...just damn. Their relationship is so wonderful.

I'm too excited to start on End of Days to further expound upon why I love this book and the series it's a part of, so I'll just do what I did in the review for Angelfall and quit listing my favorite bits and just urge you to read these damn books. Catch you in the finale!

What i enjoyed most with this story is that the main character isn't stupid. Yes, she makes mistakes, but she isn't stupid. She is very calculating, which is a character trait I like to read about.
