This title was okay. It was vanilla for what the description was.

2.5 stars.

Yeah so I had a hard time enjoying this book at all. At all. I really wanted to but it didn't work. Like what was the entire plot for this book anyway?

SpoilerBoy and girl meet. Boy and girl decide they like each other. Boy and Girl live in different cities. Boy and Girl decide on some weird long distance non-relationship relationship. They develop feelings. Boy can't handle it and ghosts girl. Girl gets sad. Boy gets his senses. Boy flies out to meet girl.

And they lived happily ever after.

The main characters felt so bland and one dimensional. When I was supposed to sympathize with them I found myself cringing and mentally telling them to stop their whining. The secondary characters were just as bad. It felt like their only purpose was to add resounding comments and play the part of bubbly best friends.

All in all, this story had potential but it definitely wasn't utilized well enough.

DID NOT FINISH

DNF’d @ Chapter 3 - MMC seems like a misogynistic pig and the FMC is just going along with it like it’s refreshing. Both judge the entire female sex from like the first sentence. The fact that some women are driven by career goals and some prioritize family and marriage does not make either one better than or more worthy of love than the other. And I don’t like that the way it’s written sets up the reader to need to believe that this perspective is a positive attribute. It totally pulled me out of the story, and I find myself not liking either character at all. I just wanted an easy smutty read, but without the sexism is always preferred.

this one was very fine but i was expecting a lot more anger and hatred especially with the title and synopsis? it read more like a possible second chance trope but it was basically a strangers to lovers and bad breakup.

i liked both characters but i wouldve liked it more if it were a second chance trope but oh well! we move on! 3.25 stars

i will say though: this one was written a lot better than sterling’s other books. the characters were a lot stronger and didnt piss me off as much despite being in the same universe.

Long distance relationship. Good story.

This book was cute. Not incredibly thought provoking, but it's exactly what it set out to be; a heartwarming romance. Great summer read and great for getting you out of that book slump. My one wish is that there had been more of an ending. Other than that, I had a good time reading it.

It was a little slow overall but the ending while a tad predictable really made me smile
