I was looking forward to this book but sadly it just wasn't for me. I was over the many chapters where she kept wondering what happened and why Cal stopped calling and texting. Like I get it, we women tend to over analyze everything and ask these same question when this happens to us but gah I couldn't handle reading it for more than 3 chapters. I didn't connect with the characters at all. I felt things were missing. The writing was good but repetitive. Usually I love Sterlings books but this one wasn't for me.

This was a nice enough story with some damn relatable moments but it felt off to me at times. It was a very fast read but I didn't feel as much as I thought I would. I kept a distance I don't usually keep throughout the entire book.

Also, the special snowflake syndrome... (You know when the characters think "Most women/men were like this or that... But this one is so different, such a special snowflake.") I really dislike this syndrome.

I liked and I didn't like this book.

A short summary: girl meets boy, boy and girl really like each other, boy and girl live on opposite coasts, boy visits girl and they have a lot of sex, boy gets scared of his feelings and ghosts girl, girl is angry, boy makes grand gesture to make it better, boy and girl live happily ever after.

So I guess what I didn't like was the stagnant plot. The only conflict was the disappearing male and the angry female. There was a lot of dialogue, and at times, it felt really unnecessary and filler to the story. It was a very predictable story, but I suppose such is the nature of a rom-com.

What I did like was the cuteness of it all. I enjoy a good love story from time to time. I could relate a bit as a person who doesn't like expressing feelings and being irritated whenever I have them about anything (which is the premise, as said by the title). There was a fair amount of wit and charm from the author. This isn't a bad read if you want something light.

The voice narration (audiobook) from the female reader was excellent. The male reader was a bit austere and creepy.

Dear book, I like you and I enjoyed reading you but sorry you have to settle for 3 stars. I would give you 4 stars but your insta love story was suck.
