Great book. The main character is a perfect balance of a person who wants to hide and a person who wants to share and be loved. The vulnerabilities of Aideen are raw and honest and very relateable to me, also, her sudden and spontaneous solutions to spur of the moment problems and her grit is to be respected.
Her words and remarks are funny but she's the type of person that you want to bundle in a thick blanket and keep them safe.
The other characters are interesting and loveable especially Kavi and Meabh and Holly. Holly's character is complex which makes it even better. And Meabh's is as sketched out too. Kavi is friendly to a fault and a loveable doof but when he calls Aideen out on her bs, it makes my heart swell with pride.
I'm learning more from these characters than I have from 22 years of my life.

Leuke en complexe personages met een heel hoopvolle boodschap over vriendschap en hulp aanvaarden.
De pacing was alleen een beetje te langzaam voor mij, vooral in het begin kwam ik er wat moeilijk in. Toen het verhaal echt op gang begon te komen, was het echter wel heel aangenaam om te lezen en kon ik het niet neerleggen.
Also: Kavi is geweldig.

Fue una lectura rápida y entretenida. No hubo un plot-twist gigante ni nada por el estilo así wow, pero igualmente me encantó que sea una novela estilo coming of age. Además de que me hizo reír, me sentí identificada con algunos personajes y los problemas a los que se enfrentaban y eso la sube mucho de un libro.

yes we didn't get a proper closure on Meabh&Aideen's relationship but i just KNOW they're gonna move in together and get fur babies as soon as they get the chance.

Really great book, takes a lot of important issues up such as alcoholism, pressure, property and different kinds of friendship. Also written in a beautiful language, and has a very funny main character
