Pfoohh, where to begin... It took a looong time for me to finally get through this book. As someone with a lot of experience with (bad) mental health (both personally and around me), Xander's character was difficult to like. Especially in the first half. You see glimpses of him in the previous books, but only when you get to this one do you really see the scope of how bad he's struggling. My biggest issue was him not wanting help and wallowing in his misery and self-loathing. It was really hard to listen to and it's the main reason (if not the only) why it took me so long to get through ánd why I'm giving this 'only' 4 stars. I did like how the author solved that whole situation. And I'm pretty sure I've never read a book with this much character development in my life 🤣😮💨 So, all in all, kudos to you, Saxon James.
