This one is hard to review because I can't say what the method is, but I will say it was an absolutely thrilling listen (Audible)

A really interesting plot, solid characters and some twists you don't see coming. I wish the ending was a bit more fleshed out, it seemed rushed.

I was quickly able to get wrapped up in the storyline of this book. From the beginning though, I was pretty sure the direction the narrative was going to take. There were some twists and turns, largely expected, but towards the end I still wasn’t sure who were the good guys and who were the bad. For Frank and Linda, who thought they just paid a lot of money for an intense marriage counseling retreat, they found themselves in a fight for their lives. But a fight with whom? The staff and professionals at the retreat or this other party of people who shared the land next to the retreat? Were they all in on it together? I was never quite sure but had solid ideas.

While the book was good and held my interest, the ending left me flat. After all Frank and Linda went through, after the worst of it, they were able to just walk away. It was a tad anti-climactic to me.

Still very good. Lots of gore and torture and psychological abuse.

When you think of a retreat to help get your marriage back on track, just don’t let Duncan be in charge.

The ending of The Method was predictable, but it had some unpredictable twists along the way. I didn't find the book as suspenseful as I would have liked as I had a nagging feeling about some of the plot. It got a bit bizarre in parts, but I still wanted to finish to piece all the bits together.
I was confused with the first chapter of the book as it started with a bang, then chapter 2 seemed to come out of the blue in a completely different location and time. This would have been easier to understand if chapter 2 made it clear we had gone back in time. We picked up the scene from chapter much later in the one book.

3.5 stars rounded up. This was a fast story that flowed quite well. While the story is extreme, the characters and their actions are believable. Dialogue flows nicely and isn't forced. The end was sort of what I expected but not exactly so that was enjoyable. Probably not a story that will stick with me but it was enjoyable at the time. As I have said before, I don't expect many stories to be epic. Sometimes just fun is good enough.
