A sweet tale about a turtle trying to sleep his way through winter, a season he does not like, just because. He encounters different animals and experiences along the way to finding the best place to sleep and in the end discovers some joys about winter. Great cumulative tale good for family storytimes.

This is going to be a wonderful book for the winter time! Parents and kids will enjoy the adorable illustrations and fun winter activities depicted in the scenes. But the grumpy Tortoise is what wins this book. Tortoise just wants to hibernate and he just doesn't like winter, but everyone is having so much fun around him in the snow and cold and he doesn't understand why.
The book is about trying new things and also all the fun things winter can hold I think that this is really a whimsical read and if you are looking for fun things for kids in the colder months to read or to read to them this is a great addition.

A Loud Winter's Nap is the story of a tortoise who is trying to find a quiet spot to sleep out the winter. Unfortunately, his friends all are living their best lives and constantly interrupt his sleep. Eventually, fun with friends wins out and the tortoise discovers that winter can be fun after all. This books has gorgeous illustrations with vivid colors that leap out at the reader. Kids will especially love all of the sound effect words!

Poor turtle is just trying to get to sleep. When the other animals in the story try to get him to join is, he is not interested. After a slight mishap, turtle learns that winter might not be so bad. Fun story to read, 2nd grade had a good time with this.
Such fun! The kids love all the different sound noises as Tortoise seeks out a quiet spot to spend the winter.
