3.5 stars.
The book was good, but unlike some books that go back and forth between 2 times, or 2-3 people, this one had far too many people it was switching between for my taste.

A really enjoyable read. The storyline has me hooked - young girl attacked and the towns influential persons covered it up to protect their children and own interests. The girl was sent to a mother and baby home that also doubled a a quasi cult and illegal child trafficking system.
The story jumps between events of the last that are revealed in a teenage diary and modern day to the daughter that she never got to rear. You can guess early on the perpetrators of the crime, but it takes a while for the reveal about half way into the book. I wondered where else the story would go with still half a book remaining, but there were more secrets to be revealed. I found this to be a quick and engaging read. It kept me interested until the end.
