I know this book is in, because after listing to it, I was fully sucked in. Questioning if it is real and I am suffering from derealization and don't notice the world around me.  Honestly such a good book and made my brain just go . . . .

This wasn't what I expected it to be about but I oved it. It reminded me of the films Shaun of the Dead and They Live. I liked the commentary it made about stories and beliefs.

This book is a social and political allegory rather than a true apocalyptic fiction. The overarching theme is how easily people's realities can be shaped by the information they are fed. If I knew this going in, I probably would have enjoyed it more.

Needs some more editing, as well.

A book with a super unique concept that could have been better in its execution. The characters were not particularly fleshed out, and the message could have benefited from subtlety and nuance rather than sort of whacking the reader on the head with it. I enjoyed the writing style and some of the characters' reflections. I also think I had the wrong expectations because I thought the majority of the book would take place in this psychiatric facility which it didn't; it's very much for fans of apocalyptic fiction who want some commentary on the power of propaganda & narratives.

This book was so good. I highly recommend it especially to those that enjoy books with unreliable narrators.

I have mixed feelings about this.  I thought the plot was really compelling and the story itself brilliant, but the way it was executed wasn't my favourite.

The story is told retrospectively, and I wish I got to see it as it happened, and could unravel it as it went on. I feel like that would have been more powerful.

But! The ending really struck me and I was glues to the book for the last thirty odd pages.

Overall, my impression is that it was fine.  Enjoyable, but probably more suited to a different sort of reader than me.
