loved it however idk if it was the authors intention for it to give toxic wlw situationship/ friendship but that’s what i took away from it. i wish they got to live together in italy and never marry men :(

sooo good! nice pacing, and the fastest book i’ve read in a long time! the dialogue between agnes and fabienne is really good and i especially loved the last 50 pages or so
medium-paced

interesting book. read on trip to Washington, got about 75% finished on plane, finished the rest the next day. being able to read the bulk at one time helped the book for me. friendship, coming of age without being cliche.

boring

It was extremely similar to my brilliant friend, later on in the book it also had similarities to the children’s classic a little princess — at times the similarities felt too similar… Overall though, I liked the writing style it was relatively fast paced with not many filler pages, and the choice of vocabulary was intricate. The prose was also very very beautiful, keeping me consistently interested and looking forward to picking it up again.

Emotionless, flat, and boring. The only decent thing I can say about this book is that the prose itself was decent but everything else was so tedious to get through
