I feel like I value this series more now than I did in high school / university because I have read so much more historical fiction. This is written just so well, with whimsy and humour but also incorporating darkness and the more unsavoury aspects of medieval life.
I also love the characters so much, they’re all so fun and their relationships and interactions with each other are so engaging. I often found myself going back to reread certain passages.
