Yep. I needed this, after finishing “Crooked Kingdom” I needed something that wouldn’t make me cry lol this came in my Owlcrate box and looked super cute so I gave it a try. Finished it in one sitting taking a break for dinner, so it is a quick read.

I liked that while it is obviously a book about love (I mean it is called foolish hearts) it was about other types of love too and relationships, changing friendships, making new friends, family, getting past the fears we cling to and not letting them stand in our way with new friendships and relationships. So
Basically it was about life.

I enjoyed Claudia and her realistic love arc, I love love love that we weren’t forced to listen to a main character go on and on about how hot their love interest is, in fact I don’t think the love interest was described physically often at all, maybe what he was wearing but not the usual “he has dark brooding green eyes and his hair was as black as night” blah blah blah stuff. He was just s boy, a goofy lovable boy trying to impress a girl who had been hurt before and who was reluctant to give her heart out again.

Al of the characters Were treated the same way, we were able to get to know them by their actions and words we weren’t focused on physical appearances so it was nice to see that.

It was also nice to see the non lovey love, the best friends protecting each other, the way family will make choices to protect you, new friends coming together and being there for each other, old friends facing the fear of moving on and growing apart together and finding they will always have your back

Is this book sweet? Yes undeniably, and chaste. A few dirty jokes here and there because...well boys are boys but it was nice to read a YA that wasn’t all about making out all the time with hot paranormal boys and blah blah dark secrets.

This was realistic fiction with a focus on the real.

And seriously, it was cute!

4.5 this was too cute i want to throw up

Only correct way to read this is while listening to MITSKI.
