After being disappointed with book one I'm rather confused at why I bothered to read the second. This was more of the same. More aimless and pointless plot. More gratuitous male sexual fantasy -- and this element became far more severe than in the book before it and made me wonder if the Larry Niven has a bestiality fetish or something. And if that wasn't enough the author was clearly using this book to post-facto fix egregious scientific errors in book #1 and trying to make it look like he planned it all on purpose - which he quite obviously didn't.

The only positive thing I have to say about it is that it is better than the dumpster fire that was "Bowl of Heaven" by the same author.

Acceptable, bit rambling. Enjoyable as a follow-up to the first, by itself a bit...meh.

Interesting... the worlds of Larry Niven never fail to surprise one..

I really enjoyed Ringworld but I think this was even better. Information on the Ringworld's history was increased and the story definately drew you in. Recommended.

A product of its day but it hasn't held up well over time.

A very bizarre book. It's fascinating what Niven gets obsessed with while writing.

This was... ok, but unnecessary. If anything it kinda tarnished the first book. Based on this one, I don’t think I’ll continue with the series any time soon.

Felt somewhat contrived at parts, but overall a good read.

Loved this! Even better than the first book!
