I received this book from Real Readers and knew from the website that it would be grisly. Unfortunately it wasn't my type of read at all as it really was too gory, (it's about Jack the Ripper in Dublin) and not interesting enough to hold my attention!
It's set in two time frames, present day Dublin and 1890 Dublin, which I was looking forward to as I have Irish relations. I do like dual time stories and the ones I have read in the past I have thoroughly enjoyed. I also like books set in Victorian times, especially Sherlock Holmes, but this just didn't hook me at all.
I couldn't relate to either of the characters and so I didn't warm to any of them.,This didn't encourage me to finish it as I wasn't interested enough in their stories, and found myself skipping parts quite early on.
I would try another book by the author and but I'm not sure if I would recommend this to anyone.
