I really enjoyed this. It was dark and philosophical and sad, but also a bit silly and fun.

This was definitely an interesting read... I went in expecting sci-fi the way I'm used to it and left with what I considered more "philosophical sci-fi". It wasn't "bad", necessarily, but it was definitely different from what I'd normally read for fun and was a bit of a push to finish. I just never got into a good flow state with this book. I can see why others would enjoy it though! I'm still excited to read some of Haig's other books and I loved his writing style in particular.

This is honestly one of the best books I've read in awhile. I read most of it over a couple of plane rides, and I could barely put it down. It has just the right mix of humor, sci-fi, romance, and contemporary fiction, and has something for just about everyone. The characters are (mostly) likable, but also feel very real (even the alien narrator!). And there's a dog who you'll instantly fall in love with.

Overall, 4.75 for the slightly rushed ending, but phenomenal otherwise. A decent length read that makes you think about life and love, and what it means to be human.

This book has a bit of everything: funny and lighthearted, but also sad and emotional. I think the way you read it might depend a bit on your own state of mind at the time

Very enjoyable

This is the only book I can think of that I’ve read recently that has made me laugh; I love the outside observations of humanity and things we don’t realize are as weird as they are. This book was fun, but I felt it got a bit bogged down by sappiness at the end and felt a bit slow compared to the the first half. Still, it was fun while still giving a lot to think about.
