The writing is terrible… so much info dumping without really explaining.

Obsessed! This is my first one of this author’s books but it will not be the last. The balance of steam, tension, mystery, and suspense is perfect! Binged this whole series so fast. Definitely bump this up on your TBR! #ParkerIsMine

I loved that this academy wasn't a normal like just school for the rich and popular. I also loved that the FMC was a tough bitch from the get go.

  • ok i spent awhile looking at this book and then clicking off of it because it was recommended in a lot of RH book spaces but looked like dogshit but finally decided to give it a try
  • worst mistake of my life LMAO
  • this thing must have been written by a 14 year old who thought they were edgy because holy SHIT
  • i got 10% of the way through and even that was a lot, i ended up sending a lot of quotes just from that tiny snippet i read to friends because it was so consistently bad omg
  • like the FMC was a mary sue, the violence was glorified, and this book embodied a 13 year old wannabe wolf who wears all black and streaky eyeliner who goes “it’s not a phase mom” and “normal people scare me” and idfk like “i watch buildings catch fire just to feel something”
  • like that shit is specific af but i swear to god i am right - will not be reading this or anything by the same author ever again PERIOD.

loved it & want more

I somehow ended up reading Toxic Creek & Emerson U first and needed to go back to back to the beginning. I love Luna and her Aceholes!!!! And Red!
It’s also not true bully romance the guys at first don't trust her and don't do anything to her! I'm really hoping the relationship stays this way because most academy bullyish RHs have the guys “turn” against the girl “for her protection” and I'm so glad this isn't the case!!!
There are 2 more books so we shall see! Lol And the games!! After the pyramid, I can't wait to see what happens!! I'm beyond curious about all the parents and families in The Ring!

The reason why I didn’t like this book that much was how it wasn’t as written nicely as the Saints Academy series. Not to mention having to be immediately met with Oscar’s disgusting sex “talks” without so much as a foreplay in it.

Anyway, only reason I finished was at least it was funny when it wanted to be funny. And that Parker is a cutie.
