Unlike Uzumaki, I really couldn't ignore the dumbass character syndrome LEAVE HER ASS TADASHI, P L E A S E .

The horror wasn't even that surprising, it was just fascinating to look at. And the circus scene felt forced? It just kinda came outta nowhere and served no purpose except for Tadashi to find Kaori. Which, speaking of, oh my god was I glad when she fucking died. I really didn't wanna hate her but holy shit Mozzart she's like a crybaby on Skittles.

Stinky fish was great though, amazing character.

extremely disturbing in such an interesting way and a very fitting art style but it lacked in depth so 4/10

I would say I thoroughly enjoyed the first third of this, but that's about it.
I loved the entire Okinawa storyline, when the fish first appear on land. It's a very creative premise. In particular I liked the scene where the shark comes out of the water for the first time on the beach. I wish the rest of the story was about sea creatures walking on land, rather than the machines taking over humans.
The rest of the story fell a little flat for me. It was grotesque, and not in a way I really liked.
A lot of the imagery left me with an icky feeling in my stomach, and not in an enjoyable way. In that sense, it was a bit like Greased from Shiver. It was to the point that I didn't enjoy the art as much.
It stopped being an intriguing premise fast. I really enjoyed the two bonus storie at the end; Amigara Fault was my introduction to Junji Ito. Gyo hasn't turned me off to Ito, but I don't see myself returning to this story.

Depressing. It just continues to get worse. Stories are supposed to have ups and downs, but this just keeps going down. It makes it boring.
