this was a really strong story about grief, friendship, it never being too late to learn hard truths about yourself and a teeny tiny bit of romance. was slightly thrown off by the sheer amount of British colloquialisms but I think I got the gist. given the subject matter I’m baffled that the part of the book that drove me to tears wasn’t until the last 30ish pages.

good for you if you like reading about life, honestly. I think this has a little bit of everything

Slow start, but stick with it because it picks up & I really liked the ending.

4 long time best friends, with old secrets being revealed under tragic circumstances - I lived for the drama.
An exploration of grief that left me feeling anticipatory nostalgia, which turned into a romcom in the second half.
I believe there should have been a greater exploration of Finlay’s and perhaps Justin’s story within this.

This was really sweet. I had no idea what it was about going in. (I listened on audiobook & would recommend audiobook!) & it had grief, sweet love, friendship & finding yourself - in here. There characters were not perfect & there was a lot of heavy things that happened but I felt that the book was well rounded & an enjoyable read/ listen .

For the most part I enjoyed the book, but there were actually several typos and errors in the text that drew me out of the story.
It also seemed odd to me that, even though Susie's death is a huge part of the book, I never really felt the characters' grief over it. Something about the writing style or the way people's feelings were shown/described prevented me from connecting with their sadness and loss.
