This was really cute! Granted, I’ve always found Rogue and Gambit to be a great opposites-attract pair.

”This is the honeymoon of my nightmares.”

What can go wrong when two high-profile mutants get married? A lot, apparently. And through it all they pick on and adore each other as if they’ve been married for years already. Adorable.

We begin in space. Deadpool is here? Which of course means funny business. Xandra is a character I really like, and if I’m seeing properly, this is her debut appearance? I want to see more of her, definitely, the dynamic between her and the couple is so sweet.

Poor Rogue just can’t catch a break and amid her chaos, Remy’s standing is being compromised by who he chooses to love. It feels like a soap opera but in a good way and I will certainly follow along into volume two to see where this all leads!

Overall, I found I really liked the writing in this volume a lot! It’s mainly comedic but there are tense and intense moments that highlight some of Remy and Rogue’s struggles even amid marital bliss. But, like any good couple, they’re doing their best to tackle it all together. Good good, I’m glad I followed my whims and picked this up!

Hope the series builds on the seeds planted in this volume. Great to see Rogue and Gambit breaking patterns.
