Really enjoyable page turner. I did guess the killer towards the end, but only just before the denouement and only because of one slightly clunky line which gave me the whodunit and the why. However, it took me the best part of 313 pages to get there and a lot of pleasurable reading along the way. You'll love to hate the victim and hate to love the killer. Will be reading more of Hindle in the future.
I enjoyed this book, I do really enjoy Tom Hindle’s writing and I liked the setting being in Lake Garda reminiscent of summers spent in Italy. The plot was interesting and I didn’t guess who the murder was.

My mom & I bought this in London at Waterstones last summer with the plan to read it together … and we did!!! We would spend time cranking the book out and we were intrigued.
There were red herrings, plot twists, and mystery cliches … they all worked to move the story along. I enjoyed it!
Honestly you want the people that kick the bucket to kick the bucket … idk if I can say that word on here …
The only notes I wrote about the murderer was “touchy and guarded.” And yet I didn’t guess it was them!!!
