Such an intense read but highly recommend the ENDING i sat there in shock when
Lord Luckenbill brought out the ring
tbf i didnt trust him but still and some of the surgical scenes in this were so detailed it made it such an uneasy read but so compelling i was so happy that
Silas and Dauphine and Mary escaped at the end
also
kinda got this odd gut feeling with the mask men that one of them was george and i KNEW IT . so mad that he turned out to be so awful and no reprochassions for him in the end
this book destroyed me but in a good way just wanted to give Silas a hug also the dynamic between Silas and the groundskeeper i died that was the only thing keeping me sane through that crazy scene with headmaster
literally about to fucking cut open mary and drill into her skull
jeez was just a lot to take it but really really good read - definitely look at the warnings and take them seriously before reading

This is immediately going on my favorite books of all time list. Beautifully written with a well crafted story. I was so immersed in this book, and Silas is a great protagonist. I felt like a kid again because of how much I could not put this book down. I really enjoyed the queer and feminist themes as well.

Spirits and violet eyes were the two things that dragged this book into my hands. Immediately I was drawn to Silas, a fellow queer autistic person, and the not too unfamiliar world of ignorance and conformance. I love the way each element and complexity of Silas’ personality was explored because it is something so often missed when queer stories are told. There are so many facets that cross and change and even evolve as our experiences shape us and to see Silas explore that in both light and dark ways was really exciting.

Daphne was a gift in this story and I truly wanted to weep at the joy, wisdom, and love that her character brought into the story. The representation in this book was truly outstanding.

Along with the loveable characters, the villains were also incredible. So perfect to hate. So relatable to want to see them punished. But there was also the establishment of characters who fell in between and they added a really great dynamic to the flow of the novel.

The landscape and set had a mixed approach as the supernatural mixed with the late 1800s London but the outfits and cult like gatherings kept the scenes intriguing.

I really enjoyed reading The Spirit Bares its Teeth and found that it came to a really satisfying and heart-warming end. A traumatic and winding road to a somewhat pretty happily ever after.

I found this to be beautifully dark. Honestly a gut wrenching book, broke my heart but the ending somewhat stitched me back together.
This book handles some very dark themes and if you especially do not like gore or blood, do not read. Please take in any warnings/description. Despite the heavy themes I still found this book to be very good, well written and the plot was intriguing, dark yet brilliant. The characters really made me feel too, my emotions where running high.

An incredible book. Visceral and cutting - it pierced me to the core. I read the whole thing over less than 48 hours and am sorely tempted to immediately begin it again.
