I was looking for a short pallette cleanser and this really hit the spot.
It was funny, incredibly spicy and I couldn't put it down.

ive been on a reading slump for almost 6 months and i finished this book in like... 3 sessions, less than a week??
so sweet (loved the boys, josh was my fav but all of them got my heart) and smutty? like i expected it but damn. not my fav type of smut but i normally read on ao3 (it has some of the best smut scenes ive read in my entire life istg) so i wont complain, but definitely could be written a bit more...detailed? like not only physical details but emotional and like sensation wise. loved the fake dates, wish there were more and chapters about them. and i kinda wish there was more tension build before they started actually sleeping together?? i love the chapter of the bar date and the moment with josh good god i felt things, i needed more of THAT.
loved layla, such a relatable character, very traumatised (like all of us) had character growth along with josh, luke and zack and there was a logic to everyones actions. there was always a trauma response behind the rude answers or ways of coping and moments that were really traumatic and made sense not just like... "oh, im such a bad boy and hacve anger issues all the time cause my dad was a prick." none of that.
drama was good, maybe a bit too much at the same time but like, coherent cause something actually happened and i could actually imagine those would be the reactions of people in real life.
i think the writing style is not my favorite to read?? still ate every piece of it but there was something not entirely fitting at times, but still very light to read.
definitely recommend to my romance reader girlies (and gals and peole in general pls i use girlie in a gender neutral way is) its very steamy and soft at the same time and it will make your heart melt from the very beginning :))

This was my first Lily Gold’s book and I can say I was really entertained. I loved it for the most part however it did feel a little long. I loved the 3 MMCs and how different they were to one another. I loved their podcast. However, I despised Luke’s wife. Other than that this was a good read.

This was great. I laughed so much at the banter and the jokes and the general bs throughout—it was so fun. The storyline was cool for a fake dating trope. I do think it was maybe a touch too long… but that’s maybe just me.

So happy I took finally took Reddit’s suggestion and tried Lily Gold because this book was exactly what I needed. I had a craving for a RH/why choose with a bit of romcom, a solid plot and well developed characters - and she did not disappoint! One of my favourite things about Gold is her ability to create multiple main characters with depth. it would be easy to have them as surface level and have the characters have trauma as their entire personality and focusing on the smut aspect but Gold really develops her characters well. I’m excited for more!
This book is SO FREAKING FUNNY!! It's a great mix between rom com and smut. It was a wild and hilarious ride and will be on my favorites list!
My only complaint is Layla's bossy personality. Sometimes her demanding tendencies was irritating, like... yoooo just shut up. LOL.
Favorite quote?
"Just sit on his face. If he dies, he dies." HAHA

I still love and enjoy this as I did the first time. Luke is still my fave guy, you can’t convince me otherwise.
