This book was so ridiculous, I can’t even properly put it into words. If I wasn’t listening as an audiobook, I would have DNF’d it. It’s not the reverse harem that turned me off. It was everything else. I like a romance palate cleanser, but it has to have something clever or some kind of realistic substance. Every character in this book was a stereotype who needed to go to therapy. Nope!

The characters aren’t bad but they’re not particularly likable. I also can just never understand when you like someone as a friend and you like going on dates with them and you like having sex with them that you’re not actually dating. I just don’t get that. But more importantly, and why I couldn’t finish this book is the wording during the spicy scenes. Bc once they happen, they keep happening frequently which I would ordinarily love, but the word choice is so cringey I simply can no longer endure it. Examples: “back hole” and “member” and “hard on” are frequently used. It’s incredibly cringey and takes me out of the moment. “Pussy” and “cock” are rarely used and “clit” is never used. All the best words for sexy scenes are absent or rare. This direct quote: “she screws him hard. The sight should probably just get me hard,” made me finally decide to throw in the towel about halfway through the book. Why is this book so long?? It’s supposed to be spicy fake dating. Also: I wish the guys also got each other off. Idk if I stopped too soon to see that happening but if you’re going to date three men than you’d think that the men would also date each other or at least get each other off. Would not recommend this book if you enjoy reading well written smut. And if you don’t, then definitely don’t read it.
it was great until literally all 3 guys decided "why don't i just really destroy this girl's self esteem and worth but flat out rejecting her and basically sayong our relationship is just a bit for our podcast?"
It was fun and funny, it was sexy, it was sweet, it was a little bit cathartic for my feminist rage, and I loved the character development. Unfortunately it was only a 3 for me because there were a few plot elements where I struggled with my suspension of disbelief, and because there were some hurts that were forgiven a bit too easily for my taste. But overall I loved the characters both individually and together and enjoyed watching their story play out.
2,5 stars. Not THAT funny for a romcom, but I guess some of the characters were likeable.
