oooooook, I read this because BookTok told me to y'all.

The good:
I actually mostly liked the characters, the smut lived up to the hype (albeit intense), and it actually had me reading it in two days because I had to know how this whole things was going to play out- though you kind of already know how it's going to play out in this genre lol

It also was a well done book. I have read one other romance novel that I got free on Stuff Your Kindle Day and the amount of errors and cringy wording I had to get through was rough. Faking with Benefits was actually well written.

The bad:
It's so unbelievable. Layla is so unbelievable as a main character here.

I also didn't get why everyone was hating on Layla at the end when the pictures surfaced. They literally said they were all going to "fake" date her so why are people up in arms that she's pictured with them individually at the wedding? I had to really think this through and it's because when they said she would date them on the podcast, it was assumed she wound date each on individually. This was not communicated well in the narrative of the book. You can pick up on it when the listeners show up at the conference with "Team __" shirts on, but it felt too subtle as a reader. Even then, if she's dating each guy, how is she cheating on one of them with the other? IDK. This was a stretch honestly.

I have not read her other books, but I'm not sure they are for me. There was so much smut, lol and it's not my cup of tea! I'm interested to read some other reviews though and see what the romance community thinks. Cheers!

Here I am, re-reading one of my favourite comfort books. Reverse harem will always be my comfort trope no matter what. When I read this book first in April, I fucking loved it. I re-read this now, I fucking love it. Okay, now onto the story...

Layla Thompson, the FMC, has never ever had a boyfriend till date and before the first date even ends, the guys usually run out on her, leaving her all alone to face dejection. And then comes her three hot and sexy, cute and attractive neighbours and best friends who are ever ready to help her out.
There’s Zack (MMC), the huge rugby player with the cheeky grin and rippling biceps.
Josh (MMC), the boy-next-door with the sculpted jaw and calculating stare.
And Luke (MMC), the silver-haired divorcee… who also happens to be my old professor. I'd like to call Luke as the Silver Fox please. He is ruggedly handsome
