Okay...I'd still say I enjoyed this book but definitely not as much as the first. The characters annoyed me a bit too much. Mostly Sophie if I'm being honest.

For a self-proclaimed feminist, she sure does make a lot of digs at other women. "Leia's the only princess I respect". Gross. Take the internalized misogyny elsewhere. It's all "I wear sneakers, not heels. I like Star Wars, not Disney Princesses. I like burgers, not salad". You're not like other girls, we get it. Maybe grow up and find another personality trait.

(Also the constant comments from everyone about how small she was gave me the ick but that wasn't really her fault)

That makes it sound like I completely hated her but I don't. Those stupid comments just really got on my nerves. I admired how she set boundaries and stood up for herself. She's knows her worth and that's something to be proud of. I liked her character development and her growth as a person for sure.

Liam irritated me as well but that's just because he's an idiot.

Overall, I enjoyed it and I'll be getting the physical copy eventually but I'm not nearly as likely to reread it as I am the first one.

[MAY 2020] 3.5/5

I had to lower my rating a little this time -- I still enjoyed most of the things I enjoyed the first time I read it, including bucket list fulfilment, but the things that I didn't like last time were just heightened a bit too much in my reread. Liam annoyed me with his need to make everything sexual, I would've liked it if he had more to his personality and if he could go at least one conversation without being a horndog. Still enjoy the F1 elements, though!

[FEB 2020] 4/5

• not quite as good as throttled but i'm in an F1 rabbit hole this week so it was still great
• bucket list fulfillment is one of my favourite tropes and this book is basically centred around that, although i did think some bits needed a bit more attention
• idk if it's just me but i really could not talk to my parents about my sexual exploits and/or having a friend with benefits the way that liam does
• i adore sophie but i do have to say she's your typical 'not like other girls' girl -- how many NLOG girls do you need before they become like other girls?
• liam got annoying sometimes with his whole 'i can give u good orgasm' thing even in serious moments like bruh please stop
• at the same time i did enjoy this a lot, just wish there was more focus on the actual F1 elements like they did with Noah in throttled

TWs: death during childbirth (off page), recreational drug use, vomiting, dubious consent, alcoholism, slutshaming (secondary characters)

Tropes/themes: bad boy x good girl, reformed player mmc, friends with benefits, bucket list fulfilment, rival F1 teams, tying up, ice play, blindfolds, public sex, phone sex, i see how they look at you, forbidden romance

2.75

2,75 stars I liked Liam in theory but he just really annoyed me. If the author had SHOWED more of the person she TOLD us Liam was I would have liked him much better.

I’d love a book about his brother and Johanna and about his parents. His parents remind me of my aunt and uncle who are just as lovey dovey as his parents are it’s cute even though I pretend to be grossed out.

Anyway I know I’m giving this 2,75 stars but I did read this in a day so I guess I have to say I was hooked.
