“it was words that I fell for. In the end, it was words that broke my heart.”

Lang Leav has always been one of my favorite, I kept catching small pieces of her poetry on tumblr since 2013. But this is the first time I have the chance to read a whole book.
I’ve enjoyed it so much.

The story of Patience and Love was so so good.

I’d like to end with one of my fav quotes of this book:

“There is a particular kind of suffering to be experienced when you love something greater than yourself. A tender sacrifice.

Like the pained silence felt in the lost song of a mermaid; or the bent and broken feet of a dancing ballerina. It is in every considered step I am taking in the opposite direction of you.”

"Have you ever felt it? That split second before the feeling catches the memory—that small haven of neutrality, before the headlong crash into recognition."

Favorite line so far. Read this out of boredom. It's okay, but I don't like the fact that it is a compilation of the few poems and prose in her previous books plus a few new pieces because it's a waste of money, I think.

Please don't judge me. :3

"Life went on without you. Of course, it did. Of course, it does. It was just an ending, they tell me, not the end."

"Why is it every time we say good night, it feels like good-bye?"

"What was it like to lose him? It was like hearing every good-bye ever said to me - said all at once."

I love some of the poems, some I do not. Sometimes I think she's just writing for the sake of 'writing', not expressing. But I don't know, it's either that or I just don't get some of her poems.

I have never been a fan of poetry but Lang Leav's writing just makes me feel. I'm calmly reading and then suddelny i just get this feeling and my chest kinda hurts and i think this is what they say about poetry, it is not supposed to make sense it is supposed to make you feel.
