This book/movie/story is so special to me I’m sobbing

Loved the Towanda of it all! Some of the characters' language around race is hard to listen to, but mostly stems from the setting and age of the book. (audiobook version)

I was about to DNF this at about 20% and I would have really missed out. This is why I didn't give it 5, but 4.75.
Later on I hadn't realised how invested I was and how much I loved Ninny and the last chapters of this book even made me cry.
