De no ser por la universidad habría deborado este libro, y es que tiene muchas cosas que me encantan, para empezar un boys love universitario entre dos mejores amigos de toda la vida, chistes de béisbol (me gustan los libros con deportes) y además escenas Spicy que no me causaron cringe.
¿Porque no es 5 estrellas?
A pesar de lo increíble que es, y lo mucho que ame conocer a Aspen y Keener, no han sido realmente memorables en mi vida, de aquí a un par de meses tal vez ni supiera los recuerde.
Pero si, fue un buen libro.
—Hay cosas de las que la gente no puede volver. Heridas que nunca se curan del todo. Tú me rompiste, Aspen. Me arrancaste el puto corazón del pecho donde estaba. Así que no puedo esperar aquí para siempre, aferrándome a la esperanza de que te des cuenta y cambies. Eso es literalmente una locura.
Lo que más amo de este libro es que Kee no lo perdono de inmediato, amo que se diera su tiempo y espacio, que pensara las cosas por el mismo, y eso me encantó.

I don’t know why I keep forgetting that I don’t love collegiate romance. This was a fun read; tender, spicy, awkward, vulnerable, redemptive, and messy.
I’m not sure if the juvenile first person perspectives made me feel more in the mind of a 20-year old, or just distracted me, as it made the writing feel that it too came from a very young adult.

I can definitely see a lot of people loving this book. It’s heavy on the spice and drama. Definitely character focused plot. For me personally, the characters were a little similar personality wise, and their drama was getting old for me by about 70%, but it’s still worth a read if you enjoy this kind of book! 👍🏽

Alternative title could have been “Denial- not just a river in Egypt”. Needed more tension/chemistry and less let’s hookup but pretend we are still straight and it means nothing. The author’s note at the end which talked about how she had a hard time writing these characters made sense. I felt like they didn’t have clear personalities. Halfway through one of them is referred to as a golden retriever yet that did not come through at all. Definitely needed better character development.
