Funny, sad and a beautiful tribute to a mother. I LOVED this memoir. Feder shows a realistic portrayal of grief that felt so familiar to me. You don't have to have lost a parent to feel moved and to feel seen.

This was so vulnerable and moving. What a beautiful representation of a daughter's grief and memorial to her mother.

I saved this book for today and I'll definitely read a physical copy when I get around to it. I related so much to Tyler Feder's grief based on my own experience with it. I don't know what more to say other than how beautiful this story is.

Today would have been my parents' 36th anniversary, except I lost my mom a year and half ago. It's only appropriate that I finished this book today. Reading it was really cathartic. Even though I had a much more complicated relationship with my mom than the author did, I still found myself relating so much with her grief. I cried a lot, and then I cried more. I would recommend this to anyone who has lost a parent, or who loves someone who has lost a parent and wants to understand this grief that never leaves you.

short review

A very heartwarming book about dealing with grief and mother daughter relationship. An instant favourite! My favourite bit is the pictures inserted in the end of the book. Reminds me of how imperfect yet perfect many mother daughter relationships are. Recommended

If I could give this more than five stars I would. This healed a little piece of my heart thats been broken for twelve plus years. I have had numerous people reach out to me when they lose a parent and I'm more than happy to give my insight as I didn't have anyone to reach out to when first in that position. I can't wait to recommend this book to those people! It captures all the different sides and facets of grief and is somehow funny through the tears. It feels like a big tight hug where someone you love says 'It's okay to feel this way. I'll sit with you until you're ready to get up and try again'.
