Overall I liked the book, a lot less smutty than the first two but still a good book. I loved meeting all the Lords and actually seeing them interact with each other and seeing the secondary characters' personalities come out more. I feel like Nesta was a grump for way too long though.

But the book felt like it closed up a lot of the plot so I wonder what the next books in the series are gonna be about. But fuck the King.

I love the whole ACOTAR series, and this is no exception. Going back and forth with the Lords and trying to figure out which ones they can trust, all while also trying to deal with *ugh* Tamlin and Lucien? It was amazing.

This book kept me engaged because I wanted to know how the story plays out. Nothing too surprising happens. There is a lot of plot and I enjoyed getting to know how things play out. I did cry at the end.

**Spoilers**
I read a review about this book that made some valid points. Thus, I had to lower the rating. (Don't worry, I felt these too but I was not able to articulate my thoughts before reading the other review.) I'm usually not super critical with Maas books, because I know what I'm getting. Yet, ACOMAF raised the stakes for what Maas can and should produce.

What was wrong:
- Maas is not a "kill-you-darlings" type of author. There was so much hype and panic about an upcoming war, but it felt anticlimactic because EVERYONE literally survived. The only person who died was the father who made an appearance after being MIA for almost two books. That seemed like a cop-out, and it seemed that Maas was trying to write consequences without REAL consequences. Also, the end felt too easy; things just came together miraculously. Allies appeared out of nowhere with a menial explanation for the absence, and they show up to save the day. None of it bode well with me.
- One reviewer mentioned that nothing happened in this book, and she is totally right. Nothing really did happen. The only important thing I can remember at this point was the stupid, drawn-out High Lord meeting. Why did one scene take like four chapters to tell? Also, I felt that the first part (Feyre in the Spring Court) could have been fleshed out much more. There was so much potential here to have a much more interesting plotline. It all happened too quickly and easily.

ACOMAF felt like a journey, while this book felt too forced.
