It was a little slow getting into it (which I kind of attribute with just with life being a little hectic it couldn’t pick it up as often as I wanted in the beginning) and getting through the world/scene-building, but once I hit about 100 to 150 pages in I was hooked and FLEW through the rest. Read the last 3/4 in a little over a day, so had I had the time to properly carve out when I started this could have been a one-day read! I loved this story and the characters and knowing it was a Romeo/Juliet retelling just made me so much more attached/invested to see how everything would play out. Thank goodness my library had the next book available because I am quite literally not waiting to get started!

DNF’ed about 15% of the way through. It felt like nothing happened in that 15%. I read over 60 pages and felt like I was still on page 1. How is this book so popular?

This book was such a fun read. it was on my TBR for so long but i finally went to B&N to pick up the copy. it wasn't what I was expecting but it was so very good. the writing style was fast paced and the characters felt real and much more than surface level. This is definitely plot driven but the relationships between the characters were still very well done. This book has great diversity I really liked Kathleen. I would definitely recommend this book to most readers But if you love romance and drama this might not be the reimagining of Romeo and Juliet you are expecting. There is definitely family drama it just doesn't overwhelm the plot.
