This book really got me but the plot was too simple. I wish there were some conflicts between the parents and Emily. The plot was really simple. I was really disappointed and I didn't like how Millie was involved in the book too much. Too much ideas going on and not enough conflict. Some parts were left out as other parts were not reverent to the book. I especially didn't like the part where they had to remove the memories and everyone all of the sudden remembered everything. But overall, this book was really sweet

I'm not sure what I feel about this book. The plot was great but had a lot of loopholes in it. The writing was very, um, so-so and repetitive as well. Anyways let me just write all of my discontentments from this book:

- The first thing is that I believe this series would've been much better if the characters had been a little more mature/older and not so stupid.
- Aaron is a descendent of Neptune as far as I can remember so why isn't he considered His family/why can't he touch the tears.
- In every book, Emily comes to believe that Beeston is a good person but in the next book she is back to hating him.
- Everything is okay but Aaron's response to Emily's anger/disappointment was really upsetting.
- We know that Millie has sudden outbursts of truths but why do you have to mention it in like every other chapter?
- Shona swam all the way just to tell Emily about the Shellphone call that she received from Neptune however, the irony is that she forgot the phone itself! Are you kidding me?
- Seth and Shona barely exchanged a few words and they are heads over heels for each other.
- This book/series ha ruined all impressions of Neptune for me. Who is he? A teenage girl on her period who has constant mood swings? His character was so temperamental and gullible that I just couldn't stop thinking that how is he even the KING OF THE OCEAN when he is so stupid.
- The scene where Njode is frozen into a mountain was way too rushed and took away all of the excitement the story had built.

Now let's discuss everything I liked:

-The chemistry and tension between Aaron and Emily was great as always.
- The plot itself was amazing. The idea was really creative and Neptune having a twin was something none of us saw coming.
- Archie's betrayal was so fantastically executed. Another plot twist at that. Though I have to mention that the signs were there since his first scene in this book.
- The connection between the Narwhal and Emily was so awesome. Even though they Didn't have much scenes together, it was wonderful.
- The memory sweep was so so genius. And amazing.
- Millie's incredible discoveries were fun as always.
- I really admired Seth's loyalty and dedication to Neptune.
- The Narwhal!!!!

Anyways this is all the book was about for me.

In Emily Windsnap's fifth adventure, she and Aaron have been sent by Neptune on a top secret mission to the fjords of Norway. Unfortunately, he is not sure exactly what they must do, but has confidence that they will figure it out when they get there. As half-mers, Emily and Aaron have the ability to be people on land and merpeople while in water. Their quest takes them on an exciting adventure involving glaciers, icebergs, and hidden lakes. Can they solve the mystery in time to save the world? And how will they know whom to trust? Recommended for grades 3-6.

This was my favorite book out of the series, I think. I remember the narwhal guy who I liked (I don't know, okay) and that fight between Aaron and Emily and the freaking drama when they held hands I think I might've shrieked. There was that thing where they like stood in the cave and caught liquid that burned their hands and it made crystals???
